Strategic Intake

Strategic clarity comes from structured thinking, disciplined analysis, and the willingness to confront the real decision in front of you.

These situations often involve competing priorities, incomplete information, and pressure to act quickly. The purpose of the Strategic Intake Review is to analyze the situation clearly enough to determine the next move.

  • The First Step

All advisory engagements with Blackline Strategies begin with a Strategic Intake Review.

This ninety minute session is designed to analyze the strategic challenge you are facing and determine whether a structured advisory engagement is appropriate.

The Strategic Intake is not a casual consultation. It is a working session focused on clarifying the situation, identifying the real decision point, and determining the most effective path forward.

  • During the Strategic Intake Review, we will examine:

    • The challenge you are currently facing
    • Why the situation requires attention now
    • Previous attempts to resolve the issue
    • Patterns or external pressures influencing the decision
    • The outcome you want to achieve over the next six to twelve months

The goal of this session is to move from a general description of the problem to a clear understanding of the strategic decision that must be made.

  • 1. Advisory Engagement Offered

If the challenge aligns with the scope of the firm’s advisory work, you may be invited to enter a structured engagement consisting of a defined number of advisory sessions.

    2. Strategic Direction Provided

In some cases, the intake session itself provides sufficient clarity for the client to move forward independently.

    3. Referral Provided

If the situation falls outside the scope of advisory services, you may be referred to a more appropriate professional resource.

Blackline Strategies provides strategic advisory services only and does not provide psychotherapy, crisis intervention, medical care, or legal services.

    Preparation Required

Prior to the session, clients complete a Strategic Intake Packet describing the challenge they wish to address and the outcome they hope to achieve.

This preparation ensures the session is focused and productive.

  • Strategic advisory work requires preparation, honesty, and a willingness to engage directly with the issue at hand.

Clients seeking services should be prepared to:

    • engage in structured analysis
    • consider direct strategic feedback
    • implement recommendations following the session

The work is designed for individuals who are ready to move forward with clarity and intention.

What Clients Typically Gain

While each engagement is different, clients often leave the Strategic Intake Review with:

• a clearer understanding of the real problem they are facing

• a structured analysis of the forces shaping the situation

• identification of the strategic decision that must be made

• a framework for evaluating potential paths forward

• a clearer sense of what action will move the situation forward

For some clients, this clarity alone is sufficient to move forward independently. For others, the intake session becomes the first step in a structured advisory engagement designed to support implementation.

All advisory engagements begin with the Strategic Intake Review.
